Poor analogy. Vplm has not been reinventing anything. The core patents are the main gig here and always have been. And they have never been proven to be able to accomplish what's been touted. They "say" they did nodal testing, but never published the results for the world to see them, did they?

Again, it's not rocket science. It comes down to the basic fact that if the patents were really worth the many many billions of dollars as has been touted, they would've been scooped up by one of the hundreds or thousands of capable entities out there, by now. There is no effective argument against that fact. None. It's against all that is human nature to pass up such a once in a lifetime opportunity. I and others have been saying that for years and all the "developments" (monkey wrench's) have borne out the predictions of failure, month after month year after year, for near 8 years, while during that time, the chorus was constantly and seriously, "about to happen!", "right around the corner!", "deals imminent!", "next week/month/year!". Plus many many serious and sober predictions of when & how much (from joking to serious). No one had a clue about the AIA or the ptab or the IPRs even though all that was already in existence. Very few said anything about Alice/mayo, Markman, ex parte, etc. No one, I repeat NO ONE (maybe 1 or 2) thought it would take years and years and be usually under a nickel. Go back and read the historical commentary. No one had an inkling it would be as it's been. There was only a couple that strongly voiced doubts about the whole thing. I was one after obviously being pro vplm at 1st. In fact, I got in long before there was any talk of patents. I got in because of the voip service provider component, not because I wanted to invest in what turned out to be a patent troll. And I kept believing & buying into the promise that vplm made to everyone, to fold the tech into their voip services platform. That was a big turn on for me but it soon turned out to be nothing but a big, honking lie!

No way all voip companies out there, which according to Malak, are ALL infringers, could possibly think they are getting more benefit by (allegedly) using the technology, COMPARED TO THE UNTOLD RICHES THEY WOULD (allegedly) REAP BY OWNING THE PATENTS. And THAT is how I know the patents are not all that, the same as they all know.
