Dear Intercessors


I received this from a minister friend of mine and I cannot escape the feeling I got from reading it. I believe it is vital therefore, I'm posting it for all to read. Justin

ATTENTION

I believe the Lord is attracting the attention of intercessors to the stock market in these days in order to pray for the financial well being of America.

Many years ago I felt strong in my spirit that a financial calamity was coming to America. The urgency was so motivating that I made some drastic changes, put my financial house in order and by the grace of God got out of debt. I believe the Lord is still calling for His people to get out of debt as soon as possible and to put their finances in order. This is not just good and faithful money management but includes learning both how to give and how to receive. It takes a special grace to do either. He is training us to be good and faithful stewards of all resources both physical and otherwise.

TAKE NOTE

I have recently become aware of serious corruption in the stock market and evil forces at work through certain practices which manipulate the markets and force many small businesses into financial ruin. I don't have time to explain in detail what all that this represents or how truly devastating it is to all of us as a society. But understand that not only is this destroying many small businesses, it is also robbing honest investors of their hard-earned dollars and putting ill-gotten wealth into the hands of selfish and greedy men who would do anything for their true love--mammon. They care nothing about you, nothing about justice, nothing about God.

There is nothing new about this you say. True, but we are reaching a point where the Lord must act. Three things are very important to the Lord: Justice, Mercy and Faithfulness. And whenever there is corruption in any of these areas the Lord must act. The things which are happening in the financial markets concern issues of injustice on a large scale and we are quickly reaching the point where action must be taken.

I cannot over-emphasize to you the magnitude of this problem. It is huge and includes governments, corporations, stock brokers, the banking industry, insurance, etc.--virtually every aspect of finances. Those in high places who understand these matters and oversee these markets are frightened by the prospect of what could happen and will even act unjustly in order to attempt to preserve the status quo. They are in reality backed into a corner and don't really know what to do. (Without God they cannot know what to do.) What they will probably do is seek self-preservation. But this is bigger than they are and they need our prayers whether they understand their need or not.

If this "earthquake" happens it will be one of great magnitude and would make the stock market crash of 1929 and ensuing "Great Depression" seem like a minor tremor. The reason I say this is because of debt, both personal and corporate. It is at an all-time high and rising. Debt magnifies the real problem and just like any type of borrowing there is a day when the bills must be paid. There was not this kind of debt associated with the '29 crash. All of society will be affected. In other words, allow me to paraphrase Mordecai's response to Esther, Do not think you will escape the affects of this because you are a Christian. It will affect you in some way. But who knows that you have been brought to this informed intercessory position for such a time as this.

GRACE, GRACE, GRACE!

I believe that the Lord is giving us grace right now to deal with the problem through prayer. Justice must be served and the Lord is the only one who can give us perfect justice. Through the course of these coming days I believe many will prosper as God will be funding His people for His kingdom purposes.

This prospering, however, is only like a side benefit and is not to be the main focus of our attentions. It would do us well to keep Justice, Mercy and Faithfulness at the top of our list. I encourage you to pray diligently, both personally and corporately, for justice and righteousness and mercy in the financial markets, for the prospering of God's people and in other ways in which the Lord may direct you. Also seek the Lord in order to determine how you must act individually. Faith without works is of no effect. Faith with works can raise the dead!
