I made an example of how it is done in a simple way. Retail investors don't have the knowledge or the manpower to do such things. Those trades are done using special brokerage accounts with heavily discounted trade fees and trading is done through custom systems programmed with scripts that have access to brokers API to maximize efficiency. I believe some of them use Deep Learning and AI so it's a very unfair battle.

It's like fighting against guns using swords.

In a few words those big guys are making money off retails investors.
