Every stock has an individual history and individual reasons for liking or not liking it.

In the United States, the two largest automobile manufacturers, Ford and General Motors, are very different. Ford built the vehicle that many World-War-2 Army soldiers drove, called the Jeep, but the GM history is more than a century old, and it includes many more countries and brands.

The two largest manufacturers of chocolate, Hershey's and Nestle's, are very different. The Westinghouse Corporation used to manufacture large kitchen appliances like stoves and refrigerators, but they are now involved in nuclear power plants, so they cannot be compared to Maytag, which still manufactures those appliances.
