May 20, 2019 PR Stated 3Q/4Q Production:

“Our people on the ground, in Vietnam, are wasting no time getting this facility into operation. We have outlined a very aggressive timeline for bringing the factory online and we are monitoring progress daily,” said Kraig’s COO Jon Rice. “We are very pleased to see how quickly things are moving and look forward to completing the transition. We expect to make delivery of the first production batch, of our recombinant spider silk thread, from this factory to one of our strategic market channel partners in the third or fourth quarter.

Mr. Rice already gave us an indicator of what to expect from the May 20th PR (above). See some setting things up to bash them if "Mass Production" isn't rolled out immediately, but, he made it abundantly clear that they will be making "delivery of the first production batch...from this factory to ONE of our strategic market channel partners..."

Yes, he said ONE.

But, that's delivery from the "first production batch." Key being: BATCH. So, let's not downplay it when it does actually come.

They know what they're doing. The first "strategic market channel partner" IMO, is most likely Polartec/Milliken. Makes sense to go with a trusted outlet first to test the entire logistical chain. That's where the "strategic" statement comes into play. Then tweak what's needed to be tweaked, before rolling out to the other market channel partners.

There's A LOT which has to be dealt with here. Not as simple as we'd like it to be. Every move is critical. Whether some think so or not. Be nice if bringing Spider Silk to market was as simple as starting a lemonade stand.
