Vietnam International Silk and Brocade Culture Festival
Under the direction and support of International Silk Union (ISU) and Quang Nam Provincial People Committee, the 5th Vietnam and the World Silk and Brocade Festival will take place in Hoi An in August 2019.
According to the 300-year history, Hoi An commercial port has been recognized as the connecting area of the Central Vietnam to the world, and the witness of establishment and development of traditional silk profession through all the most prosperous periods. By the inheritance of this tradition, since 2014, in Hoi An, the Silk and Brocade Culture Festival have been organized successfully for the honor and reservation traditional sericulture and silk textiles as well as the historical dedication of Hoi An Commercial Port on Maritime Silk Road; this is also an opportunity of culture and business matching of Bao Loc silk production (Lam Dong), Quang Nam, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city and the Southwest region to promote the unition and activity of Vietnam silk industry; this is also an opportunity of culture and business matching between Vietnamese silk production centers and cities with important representatives in France, Italy, Brazil, Japan, China, India and Thailand.
The Festival is the annual official activity of the International Silk Union (ISU) and the Asian Silk Association for the experience exchange and trading strength in silk production between member units. The 5th Festival honorably welcome leaders of the International Silk Union, Asian Silk Association, government of Lyon City (France); 30 Vietnam silk production units, silk brands from 10 countries in the world; as well as European and Japanese researchers.
With the cooperation of Quang Nam Silk Joint Stock Company, the 5th Festival in Hoi An will be a meeting and trading place for the producers of raw materials and silk products; exhibition of mulberry products, silkworm egg, silk fabric and brocade by Vietnamese and foreign enterprises; exhibition of machinery, equipment, scientific and technical applications in the production of strawberries, silkworms, silk; introducing silk development projects in regions ...
