If you think that Calabria is just posturing to nudge legislative action, and will do nothing, this could be a good time to sell.

Nobody thinks MC is a do nothing FHFA Director. MC brings expertise from many areas like political, bureaucratic, housing and economic areas. Compared to SM, MC has far superior expertise and control over this matter. MC is well connected with WH, VP, HUD, lawmakers, political think tanks. It looks like MC is presenting himself as a pragmatist open to all ideas and he wants do something to end the conservatorship mess. More ever MC and SM are bound by WH policy directives and plans.

So not a good time to sell when all positive things are happening that are favorable to fnf.

Now is never a good time sell.

If you think that the 5th Circuit will rule against the Collins laitiffs (like every other case), this could be a good time to sell.

Most likely it will be a favorable ruling. A favorable ruling is helpful but not a make or break event. Now everything is dependent on what WH wants to do. If WH is not favorable then Court rulings do not matter. Most likely a favorable WH position will influence courts to rule in favor of FnF.

Now is never a good time sell.

If you think that the government loves sweeping money from the GSEs and won't stop until the SCOTUS tells them, this could be a good time to sell.

It is not Gov that loves NWS, it is the thieves from wall street that love to bankrupt and destroy FnF. It is the thieves from the wall street that started NWS and not Gov. Now everything is dependent on what WH wants to do. SM/UST is no longer the only ones deciding on this matter.
MC wants to follow rule of law and considers UST as a just investor and nothing more. MC will take directions from WH and not from UST.

So now is never a good time sell.

History indicates that this is a good time to sell.

Unfortunately starting with Bush-Hank to Ob-Tim-Mel, it was mostly wall street thieves that were controlling FHFA. Now we have rule of law POTUS and rule of law FHFA Director. So history is history and not a indicator of future. So many positive things are happening that will ultimately end lawless conservatorship and all stickup robberies.

So now is never a good time sell.

We're all suckers, waiting for resolution, continuously wrong for years... until we're not... maybe... hopefully.
