Some background info about Scott Copeland to the best of my recollection:

He was the mind, filed a patent, got people who promised to run the company and raise funds. I believe he has friends and family who invested substantially. He eventually saw the wreck and moved on to develop other things outside of EXBX. So while he is filing patents, they are not under EXBX. I don't know if they are under another company or just him. I also do not know if he has a vested interest in resurrecting EXBX in order to restore some value for his friends and family.
