I think he had more important matters at hand than to spend money on PR's at the time.

Also, no one is 'worshiping at the Laken alter'....It's pretty simple..If one is a shareholder..and the CEO saves the company from extinctions..then shareholder is generally happy about it. The opposite is true as well. If one has no shares...then the activities and moves by the CEO really don't matter.
