Buffet values a business, or castle, by the competitive advantage that protects it. He knows that only those castles with a deep, wide moat will stand the test of time.

One has to respect Mr. Thompson's attempts to build a moat around his IP. The more barriers to entry he can put between him and the competition, the better off we, as shareholders, will be. Unbreachable? With what some say about his abilities as CEO, shouldn't he be doing whatever he can to protect the company's IP?
