Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mark Calabria
(who came to the agency from the office of Vice President Mike Pence)
continues to beat the drum on the idea that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
need more competition – in other words, more GSEs that do exactly what
Fannie and Freddie do.

But there’s a great irony here: He’s a Republican and the last thing in
the world most conservative Republicans want is more GSEs.
I guess he really did leave his political stripes at the door…
