SA: "United Technologies and Raytheon in merger talks" -

"A deal between the two defense and aerospace giants (combined market cap $166B) could be announced within days, according to the report. The merger wouldn't affect UTX's existing plan to spin off its Otis elevator and Carrier building-systems businesses.

UTX's Chairman and Chief Executive Greg Hayes is expected to be CEO of the combined company, with Raytheon (NYSE:RTN) Chairman and CEO Thomas Kennedy becoming chairman."
