We ALL have our own POS, eh? Gateway Stocks puts it best when he says, "Never average down to the investment grave".

There's a time in which we either have to bail, or just cut the buying off. Plain and simple. If the company should finally deliver, great, but again, profit not gained hurts less than losses sustained. To compound the losses is common and crazy.

One common term I see misused, is the word 'bottom'. A 'bottom' is not truly known until it has sustained that level for a period of time. Stocks 'bottom' everyday...only to find a new bottom, tommorrow.

When buying on a downtrend, it is best only to take a small position, until the downtrend bottom is confirmed. Then, load the boat if fundamentals and all other indicators provide for it. Properly evaluating market caps and clear knowledge of dilution helps considerably, in determining bottoms.

It helps to realize a market cap can stay the same, or even increase, while dilution is occurring, depending on how many and to what extent the new shares are being soaked up.

It was Mercy's siggy, "always check for dilution" that finally rang a bell, after a long time. Now, I call the TA on some companies, once a week.
