Takes a Village 1, Inc Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation

A neighborhood revitalization corporation created to develop affordable multi-family homes on vacant lots of land, in and around the Englewood Section of Chicago Illinois. The area is only 4 miles away from the proposed President Barack Obama Library.

Founded by Lashondra Graves, well known in Chicago as The Apartment Lady, this company is designed to revitalize Englewood Chicago without gentrification. Lashondra will develop affordable housing for high risk, second chance renters; and will provide job assistance and financial management training to the residents.

The idea is to revitalize the area by helping the current residents to become more affluent. This differs from gentrification which revitalizes an area with the influx of more affluent people. This corporation is positioned to become a model for revitalizing Inner City neighborhoods throughout the United States of America.
