this post is right on da mark, but then I got to wondering if when folks hear that the church is, shall we say, out of step, do they think of the church in general, as buildings, denominations, what is preached? Do we think much on the Church being the Body of Christ and we as christians making up that body. If each church goer is uncommitted and out of step and afraid to stand up, then the problem is each church goer, not the building, nor the denomination, nor the preacher-----maybe what is needed is more personal commitment. A little thought, we hear a lot about folks not assuming personal responsibility for what they screw up-----HUMMM!!! maybe this also applies to our faith. Sometimes we just shouldn't go along
