Since you asked. Wrong. If the cost of recovery process is more than the end product, which it usually is, then it is not worth it. That's the reason why environmental groups give out awards and not money. Business needs profits, not self-serving awards. The awards do make the reciever(s) feel better. However, social concience is great, but for Shareholders; in the vernacular, "Show me the money".

It is not easy being green ....and generally not profitable as the Doc continues to show us here for more than 20 years
