Highlights
Natural gas in storage rose 100 billion cubic feet in the May 17 week to 1,753 bcf. The eighth consecutive weekly build of the injection season was smaller than the 106 bcf increase recorded in the same week last year but exceeded the 89 bcf average build for the comparable week over the last five years. Gas stocks remain within the 5-year historical range for the period and are 8.5 percent above their level a year ago but 13.5 percent lower than the 5-year average for this time of year.

The Kansas City Fed index offers a monthly assessment of change in the region's manufacturing sector. Positive readings indicate monthly growth and negative readings monthly contraction. Readings at zero indicate no change. The headline number is the composite index, an average of the production, new orders, employment, delivery time, and raw materials inventory indexes.
