...They do not have any diamonds, emeralds, or rubies. They do not have any gold, platinum or rhodium. Or rare earths.

This is nothing more than a share selling scheme, using worthless, mined-out desert as a prop.

"It is easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled."

For those that don't get it, it means that people need to be more careful, and do good due diligence...
