mc73 replied (below) stating "gender politics is garbage talk"; Of the CEOs Jefra sited, only 1 - Brendan Kennedy - founded the company they are currently CEO of. The rest joined later, so the argument mc73 states, isn't based on facts.
However, the pays sited are exorbitant, and IMHO mostly greed. Sure the CEO's deserve ample compensation for work performed and leading companies to success; but perhaps, in a perfect world, they can be balance as well. Shareholders and employees can also benefit.

Here is a list of the top 5 highest paid CEOs for 2018, per Bloomberg.(1 Year)
Elon Musk, CEO Tesla: $513 million (mostly stock options)
Brendan Kennedy, CEO Tilray: (Special awards and stock options)
Bob Iger, CEO Disney: $146.6 million (Special awards, bonus, stock grants)
Tim Cook, CEO Apple: $141.6 million (Stock grants, salary and bonus)
Nikesh Arora, CEO Palo Alto Networks: $130.7 million (Options and stock awards)

Notice, there are no women on that list. You have to go all the way down to number 34 to find Safra Katz, the co-CEO of Oracle, who received $40.4 million in 2018 in the form of options and stock awards. That's just wrong.

When a woman creates her own company and takes it public and remains at the helm for year then she too will be on that list.

Gender politics is garbage talk. Nobody is stopping anyone from becoming a CEO and making obscene amounts of cheddar.
