Trump repeatedly interrupted by fainting fans at campaign rally
Thousands of supporters waited in line early Monday for President Trump’s campaign rally at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville.
The line started in a mall parking lot early Monday morning where, starting at 9 a.m., buses were used to shuttle supporters to the airport to again line up for the rally itself.
People were falling all over themselves to see President Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania Monday night.
At least five people fainted during the 7 p.m. stop in Montoursville, forcing Trump to stray from his remarks to continually call for medical help.
“We need a doctor, please,” Trump said after the first supporter dropped during the rally, which was held in an airplane hangar as temperatures in the central Pennsylvania hamlet topped 80 degrees.
“Take your time doctor, take your time,” he added.
Another fell ill about 15 minutes after the first person fainted.
“Get the same doctor,” Trump said, as he was forced to interrupt his own riffing on trade talks with China.
A third supporter went down about 20 minutes after that.
Trump paused again and blamed the faintings on bright lights that were shining on the crowd during his speech.
“Are those lights bright enough? I think that’s why people are going down. Those crazy lights,” he said.
Two of the supporters required medical attention.
Two others fainted before Trump got to the podium — as his son Donald Trump Jr. was warming up the crowd.
“Am I that good or that bad?” Jr. quipped when one person went down.
Another woman was seen being wheeled out of the venue on a wheelchair before Don Jr. got on stage.
Trump made the appearance to stump for GOP Congressional hopeful Fred Keller, who faces Democrat Marc Friedenberg in a special election Tuesday for the state’s 12th Congressional seat.
