I am way out of my league when I talk about zinc usage. However my understanding is that it does not have anything to do with strength but it has to do with the mounting of the zinc. It needs to be formed on the steel an they do that at the job site. They cannot do that procedure bellow a certain temperature. Now I am just repeating what I was told by a guy that has a lot of credentials in the Zinc business. They use 300,000T of zinc a year so he must know what he is talking about! I just thought it was an interesting piece of info worth sharing.
