It's my understanding the company trials are for GVHD, and I did speak with the company about getting City of Hope involved with that trial. If my Doctor's thought drugs could possibly give me long term relief from a disk impinging on a nerve, I'd consider there pain product, but because of what it's combined with, it would preclude doing the minor surgery that should eliminate the problem.

My surgery has been delayed by blood pressure issues they're working on, but I still want to eliminate the problem. Cortisone could also have been used, but my Dr. assured me the relief would only last a couple weeks. When the Dr. reviewed the MRI with me, it was pretty clear that the bulging disk would continue to hit the nerve, and using ablation on the nerve could cause severe problems. What he's doing sounds like a simple solution.

Don't get me wrong, I believe there are many conditions that can benefit from the CBD based drugs they're working on. In this case I don't think it would be a permanent solution, and if I could get it, it would further delay surgery as they won't do it if you're on NSAIDs. Tylenol is about the only OTC product I can use, but they've given me prescription pain relievers that are more effective that I use when the pain is severe.

What I'm really wondering about is whether the GVHD product may have benefits far beyond stem cell transplants. Imagine the market if it also had benefits with organ transplants. I'm not suggesting it will be a stand alone product in that market, but if it supplements products already available, it could be huge. I frankly believe we're just beginning to see the benefits that can come out of cannabis, and I believe they need to start trying components other than CBD and TBD which can be found in much smaller percentages, but if benefits are found, could be reproduced in other ways.
