Email answer from Tom's -

I emailed a complaint to their editorial board, and got a quick response:

Dear Tom's,

I thought you had a policy of benchmarking products that are available to the public. However, I see you benchmarked the (promised) Intel P4 Extreme Edition against the shipping AMD Athlon64-FX.

Why are you violating your established policy to cooperate with Intel's publicity campaign against AMD's long-anticipated release?

Measuring shipping processors against shipping processors is a good policy which avoids the trap you just fell into. Who knows what speed A64-FX will be available if and when the P4EE ships? How can this (and any other) benchmark site be received as unbiased when you jump at showing off an Intel vapor product?

reply:

Hi (name),

although I'm not the editor of this article, I want to make sure that people sending us their comments will receive answers.
Believe it or not, but the reason for the OC benchmarks in there is a simple mistake that happened when making the charts. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

Regards,
Patrick
