I don't get it.

Where I live and in many other places it's been illegal to use hand-held devices while driving for a long time (10 yrs here).

Hands-free devices are available everywhere, and built-into cars already.

Nobody's claiming distracted driving is OK, but Berman's solution is NOT the ONLY solution, and nobody's buying what he's selling.

If YOUR LOCATION makes it illegal to use a hand-held device, you will most likely either

1. Cheat and use it anyway
2. Use a hands-free device
3. Use your phone when stopped only
4. Unlikely but possibly SPENDING MONEY on something that prevents you from doing something you're addicted to, or just want to do.

Who does #4? Nobody.
