Just thinking aloud here, that when one considers that the primary quality that differentiates Spider Silk from ordinary silk is it's superior strength and flex, it seems logical to assume that it would take 'market research' to determine what will be the most profitable products or apparel to create with Spider Silk and where the greatest sales and most current demand is?

For decorative purposes, regular silk already possesses luxury feel, and is non allergenic, so that high fashion wedding dresses or luxury sheets and pillowcases that will stop a bullet would seem hardly a big sell or use of Spider Silk. The same would be true of most common attire like casual, dress shirts, pants and so on.

Considering these thoughts, it would be more likely that outdoor products and clothing that would benefit from being stronger and more resistant, as well as certain kinds of work attire and athletic clothing that would benefit the most from being lighter and more flexible and durable, sneakers, athletic clothing and the like would all be better bets for finding sales opportunity. Imagine also, extremely strong punching bags, boxing gloves, mitts, tennis rackets, and things that need to take a beating, as well as football attire! After rugged apparel, medical and other uses are the most obvious products eventually.

I'm thinking that the search for Board people and the announced connection with Polartec, has obviously been deemed necessary to get the proper expertise for the market research necessary not that there's a factory, and the material itself will assuredly be produced. In other words, Kraig must be pretty confident they can produce yarn and material in consumer quantities, so the announced Board search is for targeting markets and the right entrance products.

Considering Kim's strength's are in economics, management, stock management and research, litigation, arbitration, negotiation, representation, and from what I've read he's amazingly intelligent, hard working, obviously persistent all these years, 'creative', and forward thinking, the next step in his thinking and needs would be for people who are experts in finding the right kinds of products for a sure sell. Like any smart person, he's looking for people who know more about the things he doesn't know, and have more experience. To me this seems what is indicated by the recent news, and the research I've been currently undertaking to try to understand where this could be heading.

As I stated, just thinking aloud here, but this seems a crucial and portentous time to start thinking and researching seriously. A lot may happen now in only a matter of months to a year now that there's a very large factory that will no doubt start putting out silk and material very soon. I'm just trying to formulate some options of what to do in certain scenarios that could come up, though if Kim decides to hold and not sell out, I'm definitely in for the long haul as far as my own investment in this amazing product and development.

And by the way, if Mr. Kim Thompson is listening, Kudos and Congratulations to you, sir, it's an amazing thing you've persisted and seen through all these years!
