Overall, this article is pretty downbeat regarding current conditions for Blackrock and by extension for the whole universe of asset management. However, I did find the following from this article as very positive for the current market environment:

As a large financial firm, it’s always going to be pretty hard to be immune from the market. But as Wall Street businesses go, asset management is pretty stable.
