How short sighted people are. If they follow the advice of these guys with 2.7% of the shares and people sell now they will scoop up a bunch on the cheap! They are trying to scare off retail investors lol! This deal is very good for Acreage and anyone who votes no is blind to what the potential is. It is shameful the tactics some people will use to bamboozle others. When the vote goes through, the individual shareholders are given $2.55 for each share they own. If you wait for “big pharma” to buy you out you are going to wait till it is federally legal and banking is approved because those big companies will not touch Acreage under today’s laws. If the offer is accepted by shareholders, the Acreage- Canopy have a unique opportunity to use a short time period to the advantage of both companies. They do not have to wait for legalization or the states act or the banking act to build an unstoppable WORLDWIDE mega corporation which can BE the new pharma rather than hoping to be taken over by pharma . Saying yes to this deal gives Acreage access to Canopy’s brands and Intellectual Property they have been developing for years. Drugs patented and in clinical trial right now. Access to recreational branding like Tokyo Smoke and Snoop, Martha, Seth, and an array of other benefits. Acreage gets to issue shares soon after the deal is signed so they can work in the USA to gather excellent smaller companies with unique brands and assets that will build their business in the US while waiting for the legalization there but Canopy will pay 1/2 of the cost. This is a brilliant deal which allows Acreage build their business State by State (because they have to and can not cross State lines at the moment) with Canopy paying 1/2 the price meanwhile Canopy, who can not directly build in the states will work elsewhere in the world and not to mention Constellation Brands sophisticated network and successful alcohol assets added to the mix. It brings together the best in the world in their individual niches so when the inevitable legalization comes about it is a colossus with the biggest head start possible.
