Is #Tesla going to offer a #SmartGlass roof that incorporates the #SuspenderParticleDevice technology patented by #ResearchFrontiers #REFR
The patient recently filed by Tesla engineer Joong Min Yoon mentions #SPD (see section 0020 of the patent that's included in this linked #Electrek article)
Mercedes, Honda-Jet, McLaren, and the just announced all-electric RivianPick-up are already using the #VariableTint glass that Research Frontiers developed and licenses to OEMs. Research Frontiers earns a royalty on each piece of glass or polycarbonate using the SPD technology. (remember how that business model powered #Qualcomm from $10 to $90 by licensing its #CDMA patent) IMO, Research Frontiers patented Suspender Particle Device variable-tint smart glass holds the same investment potential. With its closely held low float and large short position, this stock could easily double on the next OEM announcement. Will it be Jaguar, Tesla, BMW, VW an Aircraft, Bus or Train manufacture? All are known to be testing Smart Glass or have shown concepts. For history sake, $REFR closed on Friday 4/26/19 at $2.86 per share.
