In joint development since 2016, Polartec and Kraig are applying the performance characteristics of spider silk into yarns for military-grade textiles. I’ve probably read this press release 10 times and it wasn’t until the 10th time that the since 2016 hit me. They must have a specific fabric and product in mind ready to go or at least very ready to go in order to go public like this. I expect we’ll see a prototype soon. But why not make the joint announcement and release a prototype at the same time? Or will Polartec display something new at an upcoming convention/exhibition? Things are getting interesting.
