Bees are interesting in numerous ways. European honey bees, which were imported to America, have differentiated their behavior over the many decades. Enough to fascinate the apiary experts.
There is a common problem affecting European honey bees same as in America. The decline in populations. The experts still aren't certain about the cause or causes. But the EU has banned the use of specific insecticides because they're so lethal to bees.
The mite that infests American hives is a genuine problem. The hives must be regularly treated to keep the mite population down. The bees don't defend themselves against the mite. Breeders are attempting to find queens who will produce workers that do defend themselves against the mite.
I haven't researched must about honey bees lately. The preferred queens for new hives are either Italian or Russian. They produce more docile workers that are less likely to sting the keepers.
The Nasdaq's third tier, the AMEX can be just as bad, and last but not least, the OTC, it seems, are financial venues that reward failure.
