“I am underwater and can't sell at the current price levels,”
LT2W...i think most of us are underwater. Sounds to me that you wont sell not cant sell any of your shares at this level. Investing is always about learning from one’s mistakes. I used to say the same thing when i was underwater in a stock and many times i held on too long. At some point, i asked myself—if i sell 10% of my underwater holdings, do i have somewhere better to put it where it might make me money, and if the stock that is underwater takes off, so i make a little less. This strategy has paid off handsomely for me.
So at one time i owned 125,000 shares of tmps—now i am down to 105,000 shares. I sold mostly in the 0.13-0.15 range and invested in a stock that has made me money. Yes my average cost has gone up a bit, but so what?
I have learned valuable lessons from some posters her, and just sharing my experience with you and anyone else who reads this.
Good luck to all.
