I don't know. I'd be interest in hearing from people the prevailing wisdom on stock splits in the pinks. I have a thought and a question:

Question: Would a stock split cause naked short positions to cover in order to prove ownership for the split?

Thought: I believe they are playing into the psychology of pink investors, which is very different than the thinking on major exchanges. I've seen stocks with less promise trading at higher valuations primarily because the share prices are so cheap. Apparently some influential investors wanted Bob to take this step. I have found that it is more common in pinkland for a good stock to go from .003 to .10 than it is for a good stock to go from .02 to .60 (which would be the equivalent pre and post split).

Does that make sense, or am I fooling myself?
