I don't fully agree with your characterization of RO's motives, but I do agree that he had specific reasons for issuing the PR.

He does have a history of not caring for flippers, and those who are always plying him for information to trade on. He has admitted to lying to them in the past just to show his disdain.

I suspect he wanted to accomplish 3 main objectives with the pr:

1. Get ihub readers/posters to quit pestering him for insider information

2. Comply with non-disclosure rules

3. Assure his current "sole" client that he is not taking on additional contracts (as implied by some here) that could interfere with him being able to meet his contractual obligations with his "sole" client.

Notice he did not give the purpose of the meeting, nor deny the purpose stated in the Chinese article about the meeting, yet he did confirm that the meeting took place.

I think that most of the speculation here is in the right direction, except for the speculation that RO has again been retained by the company, which was probably partially fueled by the WYSOS filing using his address again.
