Sorry I have to ask or it will drive me nuts,
What is ment by proton pump? Is it a type of organelle or is it something far different? I assume it is on the scale of the actual atoms which the cells are made up of and organelles arte the different components of cells. Could it be a process or interaction of different processes?
I might have missed quite a bit but I would really like at least a hint. I have found more info by doing the research myself but this is not the way we did things back in the early 70s. It was not until I started trying to finish my degree now that I can't [do the highly physical career I had) I became exposed to modern education.
