Seems clear to me he didn't want any part of this scam and returned the shares. There is no other logical reason for doing so. If they were restricted, it would have been simple enough to hold them until such time as they would become freely traded. Of course, one would have to believe the company was legitimate and actually had real value. But, we all know that isn't the case. So, the most plausible reason for returning the shares were he didn't want to participate in a scam. Simple logic prevails over some conspiracy not supported in any way with those financial disclosures.
