According to CVS Health spokesman Mike DeAngelis, CVS is offering topical CBD products including “creams, sprays, roll-ons, lotions and salves.” CVS will not offer any edibles, supplements or food additives containing CBD, as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the use of CBD in food or beverages on a federal level.
I emailed the FDA for clarification because I have found some products on line --- these companies may be operating in violation, or they may be operating in accordance with state laws. I am certain they will not respond until Monday at the soonest, and they may not be able to say much more than what the CVS spokesman said.
