Funny that you use this analogy, because that is exactly how I was thinking of it. I don't mind if every kid gets a participant trophy, but when the kid who finished dead last is bragging about winning the race, then it is up to a responsible adult to step in. "Sorry, son, you didn't win, and saying you did doesn't make it so. Winning requires hard work and dedication, and if you want to win the next one, then get started now."

If the loser thinks he is the winner, nothing will change.
