Because if I can actually find a collection of viable information about this company, and examine them, I can then see if there is actual potential or not once I compare it to the industry it is in and its' competitors. If this company proves potential, then it wont matter if its 1$ or 2$ or 3$ because it will have a successful progression upwards even if bought at those single digits. Now, if the company does not prove itself worthy as a "value investment" then there no point in pursuing it long term and I would rather flip. Taking profits is never a loss.
