cliff- I appreciate what you're saying

However I have a very hard time being on the long side of a market where PEs avg 17-18 going forward in the S&P, while growth is expected to be flat to negative for the rest of the year, and global growth is slowing significantly. Also the yield curve is becoming inverted more every day(on the 2 & 5 year), suggesting historically a recession now(as the 2 & 5 became first inverted Nov 18) within 12-13 months. We are in a dangerous dovish Fed driven rally IMO, with no substance.

You do make a good point though about timing the market. My dollar loss in 2019 is now not that far(22%) from my dollar gain in 2018. Maybe I'm deluding myself, but I feel I'll win this bet yet. Now some might say, but look at all the huge gains I missed out on this year. My reply to that would be- and look at all the huge losses I missed out on last year.
