THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CBD JELLY BEAN STORY
It sounds really silly on the face of it, but I think the CBD Jelly Bean article that went national late last week, and has continued to be republished this week, has helped to begin to change the narrative in the CBD sector
We know that there is a huge market for CBD edibles, including beverages, and that there hasn’t been any concerted federal crackdown on these products
But all of the would-be investors looking into investing in February were met with all those misleading headlines that either declared or insinuated that CBD products were under an imminent threat from the feds, which simply isn’t the case
That being said, the nice thing about the Hemp-CBD sector post-legalization is that the story is going to continue to evolve as we move forward through time
And as this happens, the themes are going to change
The CBD Jelly Bean article has started to turn the tables on the crackdown narrative, because it directly challenges the idea of any type of FDA crackdown at this juncture, and that even though CBD products may still reside in a regulatory gray area, the reality is that the demand for edible CBD products is very high and continuing to grow — the toothpaste isn’t just out of the tube, but there is going to be a lot more toothpaste on store shelves as we move into the Spring
There have been a number of product expos in March, and CBD items took center stage at all of them — that is also adding to the narrative of sky-high consumer demand for CBD edibles, as well as retail stores gaining increasing levels of interest in carrying these products in order to meet that demand
In a more general sense, I am always evaluating the excitement to fear ratio in the Hemp-CBD sector, and I am sensing that the fear level has been slowly decreasing over the past few weeks, while the excitement level
is just now starting to increase again
As a result, I believe we are about to see the overall Hemp-CBD sector start to warm up as we move into the beginning of the Spring, as the next wave of would-be investors reading the headlines decide to buy into the sector, instead of waiting for the chilly water to warm up
