I am not buying that the BCU is for research/testing purpose only. If you take a look at Owlstone and their process of performing breath biopsy's. They have two devices that are needed to produce the results, a breath collection unit (Reciva) and a FAIMS analyzer (Lonestar or ultraFAIMS). The two units interface together, sound familiar. Over $70 million has been invested in developing Owlstone Medical’s FAIMS technology. Now to me it seems like Frost/Yost work with Owlstone is helping Cannabix down a similar path to complete our goal.

Reproducibility is key for any analytical technique, and standardization of breath collection is key to enable the breath diagnostics field to perform robust breath biomarker discovery for a range of medical diagnostics applications.To address the challenges in sampling breath, Owlstone Medical formed the Breathe Free Consortium, a group of 100 multi-disciplinary experts in breath diagnostics, in order to jointly develop the ReCIVA Breath Sampler as the industry standard for the reliable collection of breath samples.

Collect breath samples using ReCIVA and analyse using ultraFAIMS-MS for fast, quantitative analysis without lengthy analysis times associated with chromatographic separation.
