We se it more often. A week before the earnings everybody seems willing to buy, and a day or two before the earnings it moves down again. Also after the earnings we often see the same. No matter if it is a miss or not. Often it first goes down, then recovers during the day. And a couple of day's later we are back to the old level. I guess it will be a bit above $1. Or the earnings most be really good or poor, but that hardly ever happens. However the consensus never seems right. I thin there is a difference about the consensus shared on the internet and what the larger investors really expect. Also they like to play like you say. Shorts will try to manipulate the SP and after a while they flip.
