Semcon’s Markman hearing (claims construction), against Amazon is scheduled for May 2nd. In the past Semcon lawsuits, Semcon absolutely crushed the hearing (you can pull up the court documents) and won most of the claims regarding the definitions of their patents. I would expect the same outcome again. Preparing for and arguing a Markman hearing is very expensive and time consuming. I’m guessing that Amazon won’t take the fight.

If you look back at the Mariner IC Inc. v Funai Electric Co, Ltd et al suits every one of them settled before the Markman.

That’s my guess….
