Your quote of "And what about the fact that neither Data Matrix or QR codes involve NEOM's patent since both codes can contain the url directly embedded in the code" is reverse to NeoMedia's established platform.

While I don't dispute the fact that this space is getting white hot, I'm sure there will be attempts at work arounds. But first, lets consider that if a firm such as MSFT is embedding a QR or DM code reader into their handsets, how do these codes get turned on? Who is paying for code activation, and will it be permission based, demographic based, location based and/or voice activated, such as NeoMedia's qode? Will it provide a 3-in-1 Killer Application process like qode does? How many cell phones will MSFT be able to reach when in fact, they only constitute 0.04% of the entire OS language market, while in fact Qualcomm's BREW consititues greater than 48% total. With qode now available on all 6 OS languages, NeoMedia has build an international Universal Reader platform for both 1-D, 2-D, Word and anyother PWC hypertag out there, including such things as VIN numbers, license plates, voice, VIR - visual image recognition and OIR - optical image recognition etc., all of which come under NeoMedia's broad international patents. Anything you can think of can be linked under qodes platform and patents..."if you can think it, we can link it..."

What does MSFT have? Access to one OS language, i.e. MSFT-5.0? Additionally, how many handset OEM's will adopt MSFT's OS embedment when you can simply download qode directly onto your internet enabled cell phone now. Or you can have it sent to you directly from a friend in an SMS text message such as the KISS campaign that will be launched this coming Valentines Day. Try doing this with MSFT's OS embedment and have your friend Brewski get back to you on these issues.

By the way, what cell phone are you or Brewski using qode on and how do you find it working for either of you?

All the Best, JP
