The most common part to wear out is the socket - here is a picture of a socket that was taken out by Mr. Miles because the plastic had worn out completely.

This is directly related to mohs hardness. Plastic is the weak link and will wear the most and first because it is the softest.

Engineers know this and manipulate it. For instance in the engine the piston rings are softer than the surface they rub against the piston walls of the engine. It's designed this way. Alot easier to change the piston rings than the block.

In this analogy we're suggesting replacing a bearing surface with soft plastic. It's just not a reasonable conclusion.

Like Ive said. Squeaking is still occurring on a plastic liner you just cant hear it. The result is heavy plastic wear your body has no business with that leads to complications, as evidenced by the above plastic reference.
