London-listed mobile lottery firm DJI and its joint venture partner Qingdao Baifa Network Science Technology Service have successfully launched a mobile lottery app in the Shandong province after receiving approval from the Chinese Ministry of Finance.
The product was jointly developed by the two companies, with Qingdao handling the local liaison with government and the Shandong Sports Lottery, and DJI responsible for marketing.
Both companies remain confident despite the ongoing suspension of online lottery services by the central government, with a DJI spokesman commenting that the venture represents a "major development and revenue opportunity while online sales of lottery products remain suspended in China."
