are you saying those solvents wouldn't affect he naltrexone beads, only the oxy beads? And are we to infer those same three solvents work the same on Sequest beads as the Troxyca/Embeda tablets?
In the case of Troxyca (oxyER surrounds naltrexone inner core), the extraction studies showed that it was pretty easy to dissolve the oxycodone away from the naltrexone core. That makes sense to anyone who ever spit their fireball out into their pop until the hottest candy dissolves away (a friend told me about this- I'm way too tough to spit out a fireball). Shouldn't take a message board super genius very long to figure that out. SequestOx is not like a fireball. SequestOx is like a bowl of brown m&m's and brown Reese's Pieces all mixed together, and you are allergic to peanuts. Given enough attempts, you will be able to find a way to dissolve the Reese's and leave the m&m's. That is what has yet to be determined about SequestOx. It would be safe to assume there will be one or more ways to dissolve the naltrexone beads and leave the oxy beads in tact and ready for crushing, snorting, injecting, etc. It would be fair to say that crushing the residual oxycodone beads would yield a relatively pure oxycodone, very low in excipients, perfect for snorting and injecting. It is highly likely this exact issue will be a significant topic of discussion at SequestOx AdCom.
What does not have to be determined about SequestOx is what happens when it is crushed. Crushed SequestOx is essentially the exact same as crushed Troxyca: an admixture of powdered oxycodone, naltrexone, and excipients. The FDA already knows exactly how to selectively dissolve either the naltrexone or the oxycodone from the pile.
One unique exception appears to be the use of Solvents F, G, H and O on crushed pellets, which selectively extracts naltrexone from oxycodone.
This is further supported by the ability of solvent P to selectively extract oxycodone even in crushed tablets. Solvents I appear to extract oxycodone selectively from crushed tablets.
These are common household fluids that are safe for human consumption. The tests include larger volumes of solution more suitable for swallowing, as well as smaller volumes more suitable for injection. The public reports are intentionally ambiguous for obvious reasons. It would take some time for the outside world to figure out the recipe, but once it was figured out the first time, it wouldn't have to be figured out a second time. Some of the AdCom members clearly have an anti-opioid bias and look for any reason to vote against any new opioid. Anyone who assumes SequestOx will sail through AdCom has not done proper due diligence. When Nasrat pretends that he is waiting for instructions from the FDA, this is what he is thinking about. The calculations are not just about the monetary costs of the experiments but also include the risks inherent in a public show trial with a potentially biased jury.
Call on God but row away from the rocks.
