Mtfarmer,

I also own GBTC as a way to directly own bitcoin through a stock holding company. Because this trust only owns bitcoin, it is a great way to get exposure to bitcoin from a stock (which I can own in a IRA, Roth IRA, etc).

It is very volatile, as it should be, because of the price fluctuations in bitcoin. I was not thrilled with the premium built into the price over the asset holdings (actual bitcoin) valuation though. However, due to the long slump in crypto pricing, this premium has gone down substantially. At one time is was over 40%. Last I checked it was around 10% I believe. I purchased more of GBTC in the last month.
