It depends on your timetable and risk tolerance. These two companies do NOT compete with each other. They make fuel cells for entirely different things. I personally think long-term FCEL is the far better investment. Short-term might be PLUG. They can get a large order and see material changes in their finances that following quarter. When FCEL sells a large plant, the meaningful financial impact to the company might be 1-3 years down the line. That said, FCEL is wayyyyyy oversold and could have a very meaningful jump in stock price to make a quick buck with a spate of good news from press releases. But if those don't materialize, you can just see how this stock has fallen (even with good news and project awards) over the last few years. Still waiting to see the financial benefits of these project awards, as I said, it takes years for them to materialize.
