I'm not sure about this. If you hold you shares in a brokerage account, the shares are held in street name. I don't think the company knows about you, just the brokerage that holds your shares. Proxies for instance are sent out by your brokerage firm usually. I suspect there may be more indidivual shareholders that that. Not entirely sure however.
